Cold Stone Creamery Launches in Thailand
U.S. Embassy Helps Welcome Cold Stone Creamery in Thailand
Mrs. Sophia John, wife of U.S. Ambassador Eric John, joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service and Central Restaurants Group Co., Ltd. at the opening ceremony of Cold Stone Creamery, a premium American ice cream chain, at Bangkok’s Central World shopping center on March 29.
Mr. Thiradej Chirathivat, CEO of Central Restaurants Group, welcomed Cold Stone Creamery’s corporate representatives and promised his continuing commitment to providing Thai consumers with world-class products.
The Thai ice cream market is steadily growing and it is now valued at more than US$300 million. Thai consumers are already familiar with a variety of premium ice cream shops that have opened up over the years. This combined with the success of many other Central Restaurants Group partnerships, Cold Stone Creamery is confident that its launch here in Bangkok will be very well received.
Based in Scottsdale Arizona, Cold Stone Creamery is known for its rich flavors and a unique presentation style, which involves mixing different flavors (mix-ins) on a frozen granite stone to create one-of-a-kind ice cream to the customers. Cold Stone Creamery is already operating over 160 international locations, and Bangkok’s Central World outlet is only the first in ten planned to be opened here in Thailand.
