U. of Alaska-One Year Tuition Waivers (Undergraduate)

Ace! NewsFlash

The University of Alaska- One Year Tuition Waivers

To enhance the diversity of its international student population, University of Alaska Anchorage will offer three one-year tuition waivers to the first three non-sister-city international students to apply and be accepted to UAA for the Fall, 2009 semester with a referral from an EducationUSA advisor.  You can find a list of sister cities at http://www.uaa.alaska.edu/futurestudents/residency.cfm. and request the referral form from Doni Williams at doni@uaa.alaska.edu.  It can be submitted by e-mail, fax, or postal mail after the student has applied and obtained a student identification number.  Admission information can be found on the UAA International Student Services web site. Students will have to show the full amount of resources - $26,415.00 (to insure they can continue after the first year), but the actual cost to the student for that year will drop to an estimated $14679.

The University of Alaska Anchorage is a comprehensive metropolitan university situated in the heart of a vast and magnificent state.  Located on the edge of the nation’s last great wilderness, UAA is far from remote in the things that matter to students.   Innovative programs, a world-class faculty, and a brand new state-of-the art library are just the beginning.  Many people think of Alaska in extremes – and they’re right!  The Summers are extremely stunning, the people are extremely friendly, the winter sports are extremely exhilarating, and the animals are extremely wild!  Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, offers the best of what Alaska has to offer, with distinct seasons, great attractions, and rich cultural offerings year round.
