U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Eric G. John delivered a speech entitled "The Pillars of U.S.-Thai Trade and Economic Relations" to approximately sixty distinguished guests at a dinner hosted by the Stanford Alumni Club of Thailand in Bangkok on Wednesday, May 27.

Following the Ambassador’s remarks, the attendees -- who also included alumni of Harvard and Cornell Universities in the U.S., as well as others from Bangkok's Assumption University -- queried the Ambassador on a range of issues, including the possibility of reopening negotiations for a free trade agreement and U.S. views of Thailand's recent political situation.
